Ponniyin Selvan based videos

I am watching a lot many videos in YouTube on Ponniyin Selvan movies review and decoding videos.

The knowledge gained from these videos are tremendous. A lot of efforts have gone into the making of Ponniyin Selvan 1 and 2. Tremendous brains have coordinated among themselves to give the movies Ponniyin Selvan 1 and 2.

I shall be seeing the hindi dubbed Ponniyin Selvan 2 on 29th evening.  I was keen on music actually and was a little disappointed that songs are less and hymns are more.

I am eagerly waiting for the release of the movie.

Wishes for a nice day. Namaste 🙏!!

Trailer of Ponniyin Selvan 2

The trailer of Ponniyin Selvan 2 was good.  It didn't reveal the crux of the story.  But revealed a little what interpretation the movie is likely to take.

I couldn't follow the book and relied on YouTube audio books.  Anyways I was reading the English translation of the book.

It seemed unfair for Oomai Rani to be considered in such a fashion in the story book. I think it could be that Kalki was referring to some aspect of Rajaji life. Not sure what.  I think it is the fact that Shiva has children in hindu stories.

Why Rajaji? I can't understand how Gandhiji could be so hard.  Rationality was the need of the time and irrational education was probably the issue. If you recollect from history Congress guys were sycophants and were interested in higher education abroad and in India.  They avoided Muslim League and this was too costly for India.

I can't understand the reason why the movie is being released in north India.  Seems to be a South Indian market for the story. And music is amazing.  Two notes subject. What thiruvarur guys made this music scale or something.

I hope they write it is interpretation of the story or something.

I shall remain. My own blog post writer.

I felt sad

I felt sad when 'Ponniyin Selvan-1' failed to get an award at the Asian Film Awards 2023. My anger was compounded because while 'RRR' won laurels, my favorite of the two failed to get an award. I thought music or costume will get an award. But it did not.

Do not get disheartened 'Ponniyin Selvan' fans.  I have seen 'Ponniyin Selvan-1' four times. I managed to see 'RRR' once and by forwarding I completed 'Kantara'. I am talking of south Indian movies. These are due to the times we are in. It is difficult to see movies when one is not expected to like.

I think Mani Ratnam has planned superbly. Because when I saw for the fourth time, I realized that Karuthiruman (a crucial character) is already shown in Ponniyin Selvan-1. The planning, script are brilliant and imaginative. How fantastically they have managed two parts at a single go. And that too during Corona peak.

I am confident of A R Rahman and the songs of 'Ponniyin Selvan-2' will be great. I am sure of it. This is what I am expecting the most from 'Ponniyin Selvan -2'.

Good wishes, dear readers.

Is Ponniyin Selvan by Kalki Krishnamurthy a great book ?

When I think of written thoughts I like Anton Chekov the most. Short stories of Tagore are great. They are great authors.
But what about Ponniyin Selvan by Kalki Krishnamurthy?

Kalki wrote the story in 1950s in a magazine Kalki as a weekly story continued for 5 years.  It was quite popular among general public.

I feel the focus of Kalki is an amazing feat. He does not write about achievement of Raja raja chola or others. But showcases a small period of Chola empire.

Mani Ratnam says that Ponniyin Selvan story is meant to be interpreted as suited to its reader. Part 4 and Part 5 of Ponniyin Selvan are very confusing to me. It might have been interesting in 1950s as a weekly.  But in novel form it is difficult to have a clear image in mind from the writing. I flipped through pages in Kindle and later listened to audio version of Part 4 and Part 5.

Kalki had a great responsibility.  He had to tell the history.  He had to show a great empire in a way that people are proud of.  At the same time he did not want to belittle the other major kingdoms.

So all in all Ponniyin Selvan is an interesting story.  It remains to be seen how Mani Ratnam and his team present the rest of the story as a cinema.  I am interested to see Ponniyin Selvan 2. What about you?

This is interesting.  Oomai (mute) photo from Google images.  Rajaji and Kalki.

Ponniyin Selvan 1

Present day Thanjavur palace having Maratha influence due to maratha rulers.

Vandhiyadevan is on a mission to Kadambur to find out the plans of chieftains on the future of Chola empire. He was sent on this mission by Karikalan the eldest son of Sundara Chola the current emperor.  Sundara Chola is bedridden due to illness. Vanthiyedevan after collecting information is assigned to go to Thanjavur and inform Sundara Chola and Kundavai (the only daughter of Sundara Chola and sister of Karikalan).

During these times there appears a comet in the sky. This according to soothsayer means a death in the royal family of Cholas.

Vanthiyedevan befriends Ahrwharkadiyan Nambi during his journey who is a Vishnu bhakt and who manages access to high offices and places due to his wit, bhakti and smartness.

When Kundavai is informed about the secret plans of chieftains she sends Vanthiyedevan to Lanka where the youngest son of Sundara Chola Arunmozhi Varman is waging war. She asks Vanthiyedevan  to bring Arunmozhi back to Thanjavur from Lanka.

Kundavai is smart and attempts to break the secret plans of chieftains by proposing marriage alliance of her brothers.

Peria pazhuvettarayar the eldest chieftain has a beautiful wife Nandini who is in reality is devoted to Pandya kingdom (Madurai). Pandyas and Cholas have bitter enmity.

Vanthiyedevan reaches Lanka helped by Poonkuzhali who is expert in boats and seas. Vanthiyedevan also earlier befriended Senthan Amuthan in Thanjavur.  Senthan Amuthan is interested in marrying Poonkuzhali.

Vanthiyedevan meets Nambi in Lanka. Together they manage to meet Arulmozhi Varman.

Arulmozhi Varman tells the story of Oomai Rani who always saves Arulmozhi Varman from deep disasters. Arulmozhi Varman also explains why he is called Ponniyin Selvan.

Sundara Chola realizes that conspiracy in his kingdom is strong and orders arrest warrant of Arulmozhi Varman.  This he believed would bring Arulmozhi Varman safely to Thanjavur.

Pandyas enter Lanka too and want to kill Arulmozhi Varman.  They mistake Vanthiyedevan for Arulmozhi Varman because of great plan of Arulmozhi Varman.

Arulmozhi realizes Pandyas have captured Vanthiyedevan and tries to rescue him. A series of fight and sea storm makes the ship drown in the sea along with Arulmozhi Varman and Vanthiyedevan.  Poonkuzhali observes this happening.

News spread in Thanjavur that Arulmozhi Varman is dead in sea battle.

In the Lankan sea Oomai Rani tries to save her God son Arulmozhi Varman.

What happens next? Watch Ponniyin Selvan part 2.

Dal proteins

I used to be in gym and do workouts in my earlier phase of life.

I have an experimental mindset inside me and observed closely the effect of proteins.

If you are not into increasing bulk of muscles or unlikely to injure your muscles then dal(pulses) are good enough.  They are helpful in muscles maintenance.  But not in injuries or increasing size. Soybeans are much better here.

Most vegetarians in India consume milk and milk of course is great in muscle building.  But they have fat.

Food choice of course is a matter of so many factors.  My point here is to highlight significance of dal. And they are fine for average workers.

The three greats

Niels Henrik Abel

You look at an equation that Abel gave to the world.  And you realize that this young man was simply great. You get mesmerized by the beauty of the equation.

Leonhard Euler

Euler was amazingly good. He had a lot to express on even the most simple concepts.  Prime numbers, complex numbers or others; he had a lot of theory and they were all so good.

Carl Gauss

Gauss was prodigious. I simply cannot believe that Gauss's constant is found in so many phenomenon.  It is almost as prolific as pi but somehow Gauss's constant does not get so much attention.

I am able to see a lot of connections.  3 consecutive numbers and 4 consecutive numbers. And golden ratio. And pi. Hour glass. Origami squares. I don't claim to be great as above three; but at the same time I do not want to loose any opportunity that can be given by magnanimous men. One needs books, journals and labs. However,  I am not complaining.  There is internet. There is Wikipedia.

Thanks.  Have a nice day.

The woman(w), the man(m), the kid(k) and the god(z)

Here is the equation of Niels Abel.
I call it the woman(w), the man(m), the kid(k) and the god(z) equation.
I also feel it is the philosophy of adding.

An ambitious attempt

The rational number series was an ambitious attempt by me to make a mathematical symbol for India. Many of my blog readers may think I am being mad. But deep inside I could see a lot of connections in the series and the type of operation that I was trying.
Unfortunately, the initial paper itself did not take off. Most of the reputed Indian mathematical journals refused to publish my paper.
You can see that the rational number series gives polynomials too. Apart from approximate geometric progression. And also it can be used in prime numbers.

Saurabh Shukla and Sanjay Mishra

I do not watch many movies these days. I have stopped a lot of internet videos too. Sometimes I watch Youtube.
Mathematics is what I desire. Well, Gauss is ahead. Certainly with Gauss constant, he is really high. I want to reach near him and learn what he said.
Anyways, there are certain actors in Bollywood who can carry the whole movie on their shoulders. They have that calibre; but are not heroes. Saurabh Shukla and Sanjay Mishra are two of them. Take for instance, the performance of Saurabh Shukla in Jolly LLB 2. Terrific. Outstanding. Or consider the performance of Sanjay Mishra in Newton. Simply great. Brilliant.
I wish to show my appreciation of these two in my blog.

The road ahead in art

I have restricted interest in art. And that is pencils. And crayons. I am not into watercolours or oil.
If I follow Andrew Loomis books "Drawing Heads and Hands"(hardcopy that I possess) and "Fun with pencil"(digital copy) then my destination is reached.
There are many bad habits that I have. Not caring enough. Not experimenting enough. Reversing the bad habits is essential. It will take time.
Dear blog readers, have a nice day.

My interests chart

Above is the chart of my interests and my grading of individual points of interests.
In drawing I want to improve caricatures and Manga. I am thinking of "Daily life", an Indian manga series.
In mathematics I want to learn Complex functions. And j series, Eisenstein series, Weirstrass, Reimann and Gauss.
In chess my visualisation has improved. Quite a bit since 3 months back. I have a tab chess app and I try  defeating it.
In music I want to just listen now. Mainly carnatic and pop.
Basically I need an excellent guru. In drawings. My interests in other three are less. And fading.

International Yoga Day

Yesterday was International Yoga Day. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had come to Ranchi to do asanas. Chief Minister Shri Raghuvar Das also participated.
My views on yoga are:
Avoid Sudarshana kriyas. As it is a kriya.
Avoid asanas if you are young.
Do anuloma viloma for pranayama.
Do barbells and dumbbells if young. My # fundamentals are of body and nature. Work out towards # and avoid whey protein supplements.
Do shavasana.

About Steel Industry in India

Tata Steel is number one.
Jindal Steel is number two.
SAIL is number three.
The key objective of a state CM like Mr. Naveen Patnaik would be to groom the SAIL unit RSP to satisfy state priorities like employment, lifestyle, know-how or skills of Oriyas. Similarly such is the wish of Tamil Nadu CM Mr. Palanisamy for Salem Steel Plant.
SAIL board must be a big irritant to these big guys as possibly SAIL board cannot satisfy all the needs of individual CMs.
Now coal, minerals etc. are best imported collectively by SAIL, Jindal and Tata.
It is best that individual CMs communicate with Tata and Jindals for their state steel plants for crucial resources.
SAIL board is responsible for keeping cordiality with these CMs and also liasoning with Steel ministry. The SAIL board is expected to arrange finances for running cost. Capital cost is likely to be influenced more by individual state governments.
On a personal front I feel I have Level 5 leadership qualities and want a streamlined organisation.
I used to read Economic Times regularly.
I used to blog on global steel scene.
I am interested in mathematical constants.

Litti Chokha

Litti Chokha is a famous dish in Ranchi.
Litti is wheat flour balls filled with Sattu(secret recipe containing chana dal and other ingredients)  and fried in desi ghee after heating the balls up in coal stove. First the balls are made. Then heated up. Then fried in ghee.
Chokha is Aloo bhaji with mild spices.
The combination is excellent and well balanced too for an Indian.
I remember there is a shop in Vikas Marg, Delhi selling Litti.
Two Litttis and Chokha will serve as a nice lunch during winters. If served with mildly spiced buttermilk; this combination may go well with foreigners too.

BrahMos Missile

The BrahMos (designated PJ-10) is a medium-range ramjet supersonic cruise missile that can be launched from submarine, ships, aircraft, or land. It is the fastest cruise missile in the world. It is a joint venture between the Russian Federation's NPO Mashinostroyeniya and India's Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) who together have formed BrahMos Aerospace. It is based on the Russian P-800 Oniks cruise missile and other similar sea-skimming Russian cruise missile technology. The name BrahMos is a portmanteau formed from the names of two rivers, the Brahmaputra of India and the Moskva of Russia.
It is the world's fastest anti-ship cruise missile in operation. The missile travels at speeds of Mach 2.8 to 3.0,which is being upgraded to Mach 5.0. The land-launched and ship-launched versions are already in service, with the air and submarine-launched versions currently in the testing phase. An air-launched variant of BrahMos appeared in 2012. A hypersonic version of the missile, BrahMos-II, is also presently under development with a speed of Mach 7-8 to boost aerial fast strike capability. It is expected to be ready for testing by 2020.
India wanted the BrahMos to be based on a mid range cruise missile like the P-700 Granit. Its propulsion is based on the Russian missile, and missile guidance has been developed by BrahMos Aerospace. The missile is expected to reach a total order US$13 billion.
In 2016, as India became a member of the Missile Technology Control Regime (MTCR), India and Russia are now planning to jointly develop a new generation of Brahmos missiles with 600 km-plus range and an ability to hit protected targets with pinpoint accuracy.

Newer Areas

Some newer areas of thoughts have been shared by me on the internet via blogspot which is a Google product.
These are:
1. Puzzles to improve wisdom of finances.
2. Infinite series statements based on higher fibonacci confidence.
I can involve in this realm for a while. It's a greenfield investment opportunities.

Something Worthwhile

Could you have crossed that line without a care for the self being burnt? No, never.
The hell is within. And they rise. It is magnanimity that rules the soul. And not otherwise. However dependence on what not is arbitrary and without merit.
They say people gossip. Really !! That matters, so do I for myself. Any chance however to help the helpless is a matter of deep concern. To me. And my other part.
How can somebody be so lazy? Waiting for the ripe banana to fall may be a solution but not a problem. Take it this way. That Way. Any Way. I wish to write that when pigeons fly their aim is to reach the destination. Her interest is certainly not in laying eggs for the he pigeon. However when things go wild as they seem every time; Only one thing helps. A true self.
Therefore it will be more appropriate to consider a true self as being conquered within. To say the least.
